Long-established Volvo Trucks’ customer, Dyce Carriers Ltd of Aberdeen, has recently taken delivery of 13 FH-500 trucks. The latest group is made up of a dozen 6×2 tractor units and a specialised 8×2 rigid fitted with a Fassi 820 crane and drawbar trailer capability.
Supplied by Richard Cochrane at Volvo Truck and Bus North & Scotland’s Aberdeen depot, the newcomers carry Dyce Carrier’s unique and instantly recognisable, black and gold livery.
All 13 FHs are Globetrotter XL models equipped with Volvo D13K 500hp engines, I-Shift automated gearboxes and ADR specifications. Extra safety equipment includes a front facing camera and an audible left turn warning device.
The dozen tractor units feature 3900mm wheelbases, a rear axle ratio of 2.64:1 and Bridgestone tyres. Leather seats and a refrigerator boost the Volvos’ interior specifications, whilst outside the chassis includes chain trays and a fire box.
